Hello everyone! I hope everyone is super well, I want to talk to you today about an interesting movie. I will give you my opinions about the movie Don't Look Up! from Netflix. When this movie was released I was very excited, I remember it was being painted as a masterpiece.. and when I saw it, I found something totally different than what I thought it would be. It is a great satire on today's society, using as a premise, the imminent collision of a large asteroid against the earth. What I thought at first would be a disaster movie, quickly became a very uncomfortable reflection of what society is like today.
The plot follows two scientists, played by renowned actors Leonardo Dicaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, as they discover this comet and desperately try to warn the world of what will happen. It is interesting how the movie portrays the whole world's response: from politicians more worried about polls than the end of everything, people worried about their property and money, media that modify the information to make it more tolerable to the public, the issue of media disinformation...
And well, what can I say about the cast, simply impressive. From DiCaprio as the scientist who is dragged by his discovery, ending up doing crazy things that go beyond his capabilities... and of course, Jennifer Lawrence, playing Kate, the scientist's partner, transmitting a palpable intensity, her frustration with the indifference of the world is very noticeable, something that many can identify with.

Hola a todos! Espero todos estén súper bien, quiero hablarles hoy de una película interesante. Les daré mis opiniones sobre la película Don't Look Up! de Netflix. Cuando se estrenó esta película yo estaba muy emocionado, recuerdo que la pintaban como una obra maestra.. y cuando la ví, me encontré con algo totalmente distinto a lo que yo creí que sería. Se trata de una gran sátira sobre la sociedad actual, utilizando como premisa, la inminente colisión de un gran asteroide contra la tierra. Lo que pensé en un principio que sería una película de desastre, se convirtió rápidamente en un reflejo muy incómodo de como es la sociedad hoy en día.
La trama sigue a dos científicos, interpretados por los reconocidos actores: Leonardo Dicaprio, y Jennifer Lawrence, ellos descubren este cometa y tratan desesperadamente de advertirle al mundo de lo que pasará. Es interesante como la película retrata toda la respuesta del mundo: desde políticos más preocupados por encuestas que por el fin de todo, gente preocupada por sus bienes y su dinero, medios de comunicación que modifican la información para hacerla más tolerable al público, el tema de la desinformación de los medios..
Y bueno, que les puede decir del elenco, simplemente impresionante. Desde DiCaprio como el científico que se ve arrastrado por su descubrimiento, terminando haciendo cosas locas que van más allá de sus capacidades.. y claro, Jennifer Lawrence, interpretado a Kate, la compañera de este científico, transmitiendo una intensidad palpable, se nota mucho la frustración de ella ante ka indiferencia del mundo, algo con lo que muchos se pueden identificar.

Also Meryl Streep gives a deliciously cynical performance as the president of the united states. Also Jonah Hill, as her son, brings a very absurd humor, which although a little ridiculous at times, fits very well with the tone of the film... I personally am a fan of absurd humor, what can I say haha. This movie I think is very honest, it has no fear or reservations in showing the flaws of our society, the obsession with social media, and the stupid denial of scientific facts. The parallelism with current issues such as climate change, media warfare, and so on is very present. And not only that, the film goes further, questioning the collective capacity to face global crises...
I thought the direction was good, it uses techniques such as fast camera movements, or weird cuts, to create an atmosphere of chaos, this perfectly reflects the helplessness and frustration of our protagonists. I also liked how they used humor, it has its pros and cons, I consider that there are very good jokes, and hooks, but there are also some that did not give me much laughter, and that I felt them unnecessary... but I can be each person's taste...

También Meryl Streep hace una interpretación deliciosamente cínica como la presidenta de los estados unidos. Asimismo Jonah Hill, cómo su hijo, aporta un humor muy absurdo, que aunque sea un poco ridículo en algunas ocasiones, encaja muy bien con el tono de la película.. yo personalmente soy fan del humor absurdo, que les puedo decir jaja. Esta película creo que es muy honesta, no tiene miedo ni reservas en mostrar los defectos de nuestra sociedad, la obsesión por las redes sociales, y la negación estúpida de los hechos científicos. El paralelismo con temas actuales como el cambio climático, la guerra mediática, y demás cosas está muy presente. Y no solo eso, la película va más allá, cuestionando la capacidad colectiva para enfrentar crisis globales..
La dirección me pareció buena, utiliza técnicas como movimientos de cámara rápidos, o cortes raros, para crear una atmósfera de caos, esto refleja perfectamente la impotencia y la frustración de nuestros protagonistas. También me gustó como usaron el humor, tiene sus pros y sus contras, considero que hay muy buenos chistes, y ganchos, pero también hay algunos que no me dieron mucha risa, y que los sentí innecesarios.. pero puedo ser gustos de cada persona..

Still, in this film, at 2 hours and 20 minutes long.... Sometimes it feels a little slow. There are plots that don't seem very interesting, and I think they're a little too much... Also, the movie sometimes falls into the flaw of being too obvious with its message.... There are moments that feel preachy, and this may not be to everyone's liking. I think it is a good film, and above all very timely. It invites you to reflect on society's priorities, and how we often choose the comfort of denial, over harsh reality, and more so in global threats, which affect many people.
This story makes you ask yourself interesting questions... How could a large number of people communicate important and sensitive information? Is lying justified? Things like how much we ordinary people could do in the face of catastrophes... we could just wait for the big powers to take care of it(?) It's good to think about things like that.

Aun así, en esta película, con sus 2 horas y 20 minutos de duración.. A veces se siente un poco lenta. Hay tramas que no parecen muy interesantes, y creo que sobran un poco.. Además, la película a veces cae en el defecto de ser demasiado obvia con su mensaje.. Hay momentos que se sienten como un sermón, y puede que esto no sea del agrado de todos. Creo que es una buena película, y sobre todo muy oportuna. Invita a reflexionar sobre las prioridades de la sociedad, y como muchas veces elegimos la comodidad de la negación, sobre la dura realidad, y más en amenazas globales, que afectan a muchas personas.
Esta historia te hace preguntarte preguntas interesantes.. ¿Cómo se podría comunicar información importante y delicada una gran cantidad de personas? ¿Mentir está justificado? Cosas como que tanto podríamos hacer las personas comunes y corrientes ante catástrofes.. solo nos quedaría esperar a que las grandes potencias se encarguen(? Es bueno pensar en cosas como esas.

The end of the movie impacted me. Without going into too much detail, it made me feel a strange mix of emotions, it was weird, unique, and I think it was a very good denouement. As for the technical aspects, this film has a dynamic visual style that complements the frenetic narrative well. More scenes of countries' reactions to the crisis are very effective, we see how different cultures could respond to a threat of global magnitude. The soundtrack was good, I liked it a lot... it serves its purpose.
I definitely recommend it, it's not a typical movie, I found it interesting and different, it's not perfect but it's bold, provocative.... It sure can make you laugh, make you angry, and it sure makes you think. It challenges our worries and pushes us to action. I give it a 7.5/10. El final de la película me impacto. Sin entrar en muchos detalles, me hizo sentir una mezcla extraña de emociones, fue raro, unico, y creo que fue muy bueno el desenlace. En cuanto a los aspectos técnicos, esta cinta tiene un estilo visual dinámico que complementa bien la narrativa frenética. Más escenas de las reacciones de los países a la crisis, son muy efectivas, vemos cómo diferentes culturas podrían responder a una amenaza de magnitudes globales. La banda sonora estuvo buena, me gustó mucho.. sirve con su propósito.
Sin duda la recomiendo, no es una película típica, me pareció interesante y diferente, no es perfecto pero es audaz, provocativa.. Seguro te puede hacer reír, enojar, y seguro te hace pensar. Desafía nuestras preocupaciones y nos impulsa a la acción. Le doy de calificación un 7.5/10. Es una película que seguro les transmitirá algunas cosas, tanto como verdades incomodas sobre nuestra sociedad. People prefer to ignore the situation, creating memes and paying more attention to gossip about celebrities or following baseless conspiracy theories. Will Kate and Dr. Mindy be able to save the planet in the six months Earth has left?

The message that is intended to be conveyed is quite simple, a criticism of an issue that is increasingly growing every day, where people do not give the value that is deserved to individuals who truly have something important to share, whether it be a warning or a discovery. They prefer to immerse themselves in the world of trash entertainment where everything is consumed by sensationalism, where even the traditional media that should inform the population try to downplay the truly important matters, perhaps by treating everything as a joke or attempting to see a positive side that does not exist at all, because obviously not everything can be good. There are sometimes when we must face reality and do something about it, not just sit back and watch. We live in a world of easy clicks, where sensationalism sells more, and people only want trash entertainment, making brainless and irresponsible individuals famous; we live in a world where large companies do not really care about the population and if they can benefit from misfortunes (such as diseases or environmental disasters) they will undoubtedly do so; we live in a world where the population enjoys believing in absurd things like conspiracy theories instead of trusting in truly verified facts.

I found it curious how the specialized critics were very divided, where instead of criticizing the movie itself, they criticized the director, diverting all the attention from the message in question. It practically happened what is told in the movie, it turned into a kind of controversy where what the movie wanted to convey no longer mattered, but the discussion itself, between the environmentalists defending the message and those who don't believe in it. I found it a really funny fact. What is not funny at all is the movie, which is categorized as a comedy; to tell you the truth, there were only two jokes that I found funny: the one about the general who sold free candy, and the one about a death that happens at the end of the movie. There are not many more, to be honest. What can I say about the performances? Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio as protagonists, quality guaranteed. There are also secondary appearances like Jonah Hill and Timothée Chalamet, who were really good and I liked them. The movie itself is quite good, especially the first part; then the second part can get a little boring because it focuses on certain subplots that some might not be able to connect with. I would recommend it for a one-time watch; it's not something I would certainly repeat.

The ease of enjoying an excellent movie is comfortable, I can easily have home cinema nowadays. En especial, Netflix, que brinda la opción de utilizar el comando para encender un televisor, seleccionar, la que me guste. Acomodarse en la cama, en el sillón o en un sofá. Debidamente anidado, con las calientes cotufas y una refrescante bebida, selecciono, Don't look up. El elenco es estupendo, los principales protagonistas son de antología. Un abanico de estrellas conforma el elenco de la actuación.

Here, I am struck by the presence of the media, which manipulates the situation with disdain. For, they focus on capturing the sensationalist coverage of the weather event that is brewing for the months ahead, rather than communicating effectively about the real serious implications.

I like the filmic format, it is engaging. Comet Dibiasky is a latent global threat from the millions of objects of various sizes moving in and out of the earth's atmosphere. Today, humanity has the knowledge and technology to avoid this and any other disaster in our ecosystem, but the hegemon is indifferent to the impending global catastrophe.

El cometa Dibiasky es una latente amenaza global por las millonadas de objetos de diversos tamaños que se desplazan cerca y fuera de la atmosfera de la tierra. In the political context, President Orlean and her son Jason (Jonah Hill) are shown as the ultimate representation of a political elite that is more immersed in turmoil than in the welfare of the population. Here, I am moved by the thought, the power of the media that has the power to shape public opinion and the perception of reality, as it pleases. The media inject themselves into the sensationalist coverage of the Dibiasky comet story. They do not describe the raw threat, instead they are skilled in distorting and hilarious entertainment controversies. This blocks people from understanding the significance of the situation. That is, they are controlled by the dominant sector. They obscure the closeness of the comet's onslaught and engage in intense political proselytising. The film, Don't look up, is a clear and real call about the perverse contents of disinformation and media manipulation.

Acá, me mueve el pensamiento, el poder de los medios de comunicación que tiene la fuerza para modelar la opinión pública y la percepción de la realidad, a su antojo. Los medios de comunicación se inyectan en la cobertura sensacionalista de la historia del cometa Dibiasky. No describen la cruda amenaza, por el contrario, son diestros en las deformantes e hilarantes controversias del entretenimiento. The film presents the family scene where they meet for dinner. They pray before they eat, and I perceive this prayer as an intention to maintain hope and comfort in the midst of the coming debacle. I am especially interested in the prayer at the family meal in this film, I am perceiving it as a recommendation to our hivers to bond with the family through the meal. This face-to-face bonding is necessary, gathered around the table. Prayer at the family meal is a norm in many cultures. It is a time to thank God for the food on the table and to ask for great blessings on the family. The film suggests that through faith, humanity can be helped to achieve emotional balance, mental health on the path of hope; spiritual strength in these times of crisis.

La película presenta la escena familiar donde encuentran para cenar. Oran antes de comer, y esta oración la percibo como la intensión de mantener la esperanza y el consuelo en medio de la debacle que se avecina. Me interesa, especialmente, la oración en la comida familiar de esta película, la estoy percibiendo como una recomendación para nuestros hivers, para que se vincule a la familia a través de la comida. Me encanta hacer reseñas por esta comunidad porque puedo contar la película toda sin problemas. Debo confesar que en un momento de la película los protagonistas dieron un vuelco de novela y lo digo de manera literal, demasiado dramático.

Se pueden imaginar una presidenta que todo lo convierta en una estrategia para perpetuarse en el poder, no estoy hablando del presidente de nuestro país, esto es solo una película, ojalá nunca pase en la vida real, disculpen por este inciso de política.

Otro personaje bastante resaltante, un maniático, que digo, un genio de la tecnología y redes sociales, haciendo alarde de la manipulación en carne viva utilizando a los niños. Un sabelotodo que luego pide el baño como un niño, dejando claro de que el que la hace la paga.

Gracias a Dios que al comienzo de la película nos advierten que todo está basado en hechos reales que jamás pasarán. Por un momento me dije: esta película es una locura. Sentí miedo ja, ja, ja y verme paralizada en la cama me hizo darme cuenta que puede ser que todo lo que reflejaba la película son hechos de la vida real. La película envuelve a uno, haciéndonos entrar en un mundo irreal.

Creo que la respuesta lógica es hacer algo, ya sea, informar o atacar directamente el problema, en fin, actuar para tratar de salvar el mundo. Sin embargo, las cosas no siempre son tan simples y fáciles como la lógica lo indica, en ocasiones esto es mas un conflicto de poder e intereses que una lucha por sobrevivir.

Me vi esta película varias veces, la verdad me gusto mucho desde el inicio. Es ciertamente frustrante y elocuente los hechos que relata, mostrando una realidad que vivimos con otro enfoque, la contaminación y el calentamiento global.

El filme es una metáfora, sátira y critica hacia la falta de atención y acción que recibe la problemática del calentamiento global y la contaminación. Donde a pesar de que la gran mayoría sabe sobre su existencia y el peligro que representa, nadie hace algo directamente por cambiarlo y lo poco que se hace resulta ser infructuoso, debido a muchos otros factores externos y la falta de empeño por desaparecer el problema.

La trama relata de excelente manera no solo los intereses egoístas que pueden tener muchas compañías y gobiernos, que explotan una noticia solo cuando les convienen o cuando pueden obtener beneficios lucrativos de ella. Seamos sinceros, la industria existe para generar bienes o servicios, ese es el objetivo y fin . Sin embargo, no podemos permitir que ello nuble la moral y responsabilidad que se tiene con el planeta. La gran mayoría de corporaciones, desde la mas grande hasta la mas pequeña, han olvidado ese hecho importante, incluso nosotros mismos en ocasiones decidimos ignorarlo. Otro hecho que remarca el filme es la corrupción del gobierno y los medio hacia ese tema, y la reacción de las masas a las inquietantes noticias.

Un realidad que se debemos tener siempre en cuenta es que la verdad duele, no es fácil de digerir, en especial si es una mala noticia. La película refleja muy bien esto, pues al enterarse de la existencia del asteroide, muchos deciden ignorar, de forma voluntaria, las evidencias que lo respaldan. Esto ocurre no solo como resultado de la manipulación y la desinformación, sino también de protección, nuestro cerebro prefiere crear una falsa realidad o conspiración que enfrentar la horrible realidad, así poder desviar la atención a otras cosas mas ligeras e irrelevante, y yo no juzgo, en muchas situaciones me descubro haciendo lo mismo para poder manejar todos los problemas que circulan en mi vida. La mente humana es fascinante sin duda, y esta clase de noticias no siempre son tan fáciles de tolerar.

La sátira a las personas que niegan el calentamiento global es obvio, con esto me refiero a los que actúan como si se tratara de una conspiración real y no a las personas evitan pensar en eso, es sorprendente la existencia de estos sujetos y realmente son un inconveniente para la resolución de esta grave problemática, ya que minimiza, desinforma y ataca las soluciones que puedan ayudar.

El filme en trama es fenomenal, una critica a la realidad, enmarcando todo de manera realista y orgánica, me encanto la manera que reaccionaron las redes sociales al asteroide y los astrónomos, crean memes, videos, tendencias y demás, hechos que se asemejan a la realidad. Otra cosa que refleja con exactitud, es la forma en que el publico y los medios tratan a los protagonistas, prefiriendo al Dr. Mindy, por ser mas simpático y agradable, sobre Dibiasky que era mas directas y menos complaciente. En la historia podemos ver muchos casos así, donde uno solo de la dupla recibe todo el reconocimiento, incluso si este no descubrió nada, dejando al otro en el anonimato.

La actuación de este elenco es excelente, creo que no falta decirlo, son actores brillantes y consagrados, que siempre sacan lo mejor de si logran grandes interpretaciones, sin importar el genero que estén desarrollando. La música y los aspectos técnicos son muy buenos, me gustaron.

Creo que lo que mas me encanto de la película es su final, es triste, frustrante y desolador, pero no podemos negar que es realista, si existe un problema y este nunca se resuelve es inevitable que suframos las consecuencias, no podemos esperar que un Deus ex Machina lo solucione todo. Este hecho es para reflexionar, el daño que le hacemos al planeta es horrible y si queremos sobrevivir debemos cambiar ya.

Lo que menos me gusto fue su villano, Peter Isherwell, CEO de la compañía tecnológica Bash, que actúa como una parodia de algunos magnates de la tecnología, no tengo problemas con su concepto, solo me pareció demasiado exagerado y un tanto molesto, en cierto sentido, creo que esta demás en la película, me hubiera gustado ver una versión donde este personaje no hubiera tenido tanta relevancia.

Recomiendo totalmente esta película, es entretenida, tiene un excelente argumento y un mensaje que actúa como un llamado de atención a lo que hacemos como especie, nuestro deber como humanos. En fin, no se deben perder de esta excelente producción.

En esta ocasión son más de 2000 palabras, no obstante, algo en mi alma me dice que esta película valió la pena en todos los sentidos al verla, no solo por el hecho de ver el personaje opuesto de Meryl Streep, sino más bien, por la diversión y los posicionamientos que permiten expandir la visión reflexiva de los ideales particulares que me definen.

Igualmente, abra inconformidad con las cosas que se manifiestan pro-seguidamente, pero no es solamente una cuestión simplista, recuerde una cosa: lea siempre el currículo de la persona por la que otorga un voto, ¡imagínese que algo así sucede y este un advenedizo en el poder! El desenlace sería igual de catastrófico o peor que el de esta comedia negra.

Este cierre lo dejaré con una reflexión, valora tu vida, valora la posibilidad que tienes de respirar y ama a todas las personas que son cercanas a ti. No seas como Dr. Randall Mindy, que pudo comprender y hacer esto en el final de esta producción de Netflix.

Greetings dear moviegoers, today I bring you the Review of a movie that has been out for a while now, because yes, it was one of the Oscar nominees like the last one I did and I was in denial to see it because of my hatred for those awards, even though I knew I would love it just because there was Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill and a bunch of other stars, but you see how silly I am about that. The point is that I saw it a week ago, but I hadn't had time to review it, and I'm here to tell you why I loved it!

Saludos queridos espectadores del cine, el día de hoy les traigo la Review de una película que ya lleva rato que salió, porque sí, fue una de las nominadas al Oscar como la pasada que hice y estaba en negación a verla por mi odio a esos premios, aun cuando sabía que la amaría solo porque estaba Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill y otro montón de estrellas más, pero ya ven como soy de tonta con eso. El punto es que la vi hace una semana, pero no había tenido tiempo de hacer la reseña, y vengo a contarles el por qué ¡me encantó!

The plot revolves around 2 astronomer scientists and a great discovery that puts humanity at risk, the first character is Dr. Randall Mindy played by Leonardo DiCaprio and the second character is the aspiring PhD Kate Dibiasky played by Jennifer Lawrence; the latter is the one who doing astronomical observational studies, realizes the "small" detail that, an asteroid between 5 and 10 kms wide has a direct path to earth, so urgently communicates with Dr. Randall of the University of Michigan, one of his superiors, which after a few hours, he is the first to discover a new asteroid. La trama gira en torno a 2 científicos astrónomos y un gran descubrimiento que pone en riesgo a la humanidad, el primer personaje es el Dr. Randall Mindy interpretado por Leonardo DiCaprio y el segundo personaje es la aspirante a Doctorado Kate Dibiasky interpretada por Jennifer Lawrence; esta última es la que haciendo estudios observacionales astronómicos, se dé cuenta del "pequeño" detalle de que, un asteroide de entre unos 5 y 10 kms de ancho tiene un trayecto directo a la tierra, por lo que con urgencia se comunica con el Dr. Randall de la Universidad de Michigan, uno de sus superiores, el cual después de realizar "unos cuantos" cálculos concluye que, nos queda (a toda la humanidad) unos, aproximadamente ¡6 meses y 14 días de vida!, ¡nada más! ¿Pequeño detalle, cierto? =/, por lo que ambos empiezan, entonces una carrera desenfrenada por buscar ayuda gubernamental y alertar a todo el planeta sobre el "pequeño" descubrimiento y poder detener la llegada de ese asteroide a la faz de la tierra.

The movie then takes place in a series of events that take place, which includes the White House, the JFK Space Center, the Planetary Defense Coordination (which actually exists as part of NASA and they say so in the movie, which I didn't know =/) and a series of other places where our two "super astronomers" show up to try to open people's eyes and make them see the reality that we only have a few months to live.

So, at first glance it looks like a silly Armageddon movie like so many we have seen before, but trust me folks you are going to love this movie! And, yes, I know I always tell you this when I like a movie, but I know it's not just me, this movie has been liked too much and I tell you without being biased, I am being objective, this movie has a mix of fiction, comedy, drama and reality that you need to see, especially in these crazy times where people forget that from one day to the next we can be left with nothing, in this little home we inhabit called "Planet Earth" so believe me I am objective, you will love this movie!!!

La película transcurre entonces en una serie de acontecimientos que se llevan a cabo, que incluye a la Casa Blanca, el Centro Espacial JFK, la Coordinación de Defensa Planetaria (que en realidad existe como parte de la NASA y lo dicen en la película, cosa que yo no sabía =/) y otra serie de lugares en donde nuestros dos "súper astrónomos" se presentan para tratar de abrirle los ojos a la gente y hacerlos que vean la realidad de que nos quedan pocos meses de vida.

Así, a simple vista parece una tontería de película sobre el Armagedón como muchas que hemos visto con antelación, pero ¡créanme! amigos que ¡a ustedes les va a encantar esta película! Y, sí, yo sé que siempre les digo esto cuando a mí me gusta una película, pero es que yo sé que no es solo a mí, esta película ha gustado demasiado y se los digo ya sin estar sesgada, estoy siendo objetiva, esta película tiene una mezcla de ficción, comedia, drama y realidad que ustedes necesitan ver, sobre todo en estos tiempos tan locos donde a la gente se le olvida que de un día para otro podemos quedarnos sin nada, en este pequeño hogar que habitamos llamado "Planeta Tierra" así que créanme soy objetiva ¡¡Uds. van amar esta película!!

Let's see, this movie has so many things and details to analyze that I don't even know where to start (like most of the times =/) but let's try to do it as I always do, in parts starting with the plot, continuing with the characters and ending, in this case, with the messages:

A ver, esta película tiene tanta mezcla de cosas y detalles que analizar que no sé ni por dónde empezar (como la mayoría de las veces =/) pero vamos a intentar a hacerlo como lo hago siempre, por partes empezando por la trama, siguiendo con los personajes y terminando, en este caso, con los mensajes:

They did it so well in this movie that you will laugh at all the madness of the story I told you in the synopsis, while you are analyzing the whole situation and feeling sorry for yourself, I swear it is so! because they show how the world leaders have the power to control the whole situation (which we know) and we ourselves are the ones who put them in that position (which we also know), but they are the worst human beings to do it! because they are there for their own interests, while we, the citizens, are stupidly waiting for them to come and save us from the apocalypse, because we foolishly fell into the mistake of idolizing them and we forgot when we voted for them, that these are ordinary human beings, but that, unlike the others, they only care about power, and nothing else.

I do not know if I am being too radical with this opinion, maybe, because in my country we have had almost the same government for more than half of my life and I have only seen the same garbage, but I have not really seen a president in the world who is that idol that people believe, they all have their dark shadows and they are very dark! Even in the countries with the best governmental structures, the need for power always prevails, in fact, at this point, I believe that politics is synonymous with power and nothing else, and we understand this with the crazy measures of supposed "protection of their citizens" used by the governments that we considered "examples" for the others during the height of the pandemic disaster.

Lo hicieron tan bien en esta película que tú vas a reírte de toda la locura de la historia que les conté en la sinopsis, mientras vas analizando toda la situación y te vas dando lástima tú mismo, ¡se los juro que es así! porque es que muestran cómo los líderes mundiales tienen el poder para controlar toda la situación (cosa que sabemos) y nosotros mismos somos quienes los ponemos en esa posición (cosa que también sabemos), pero ¡son los peores seres humanos para hacerlo! porque están ahí por sus propios intereses, mientras nosotros, los ciudadanos, estamos estúpidamente esperando que ellos vengan a salvarnos del apocalipsis, porque tontamente caímos en el error de idolatrarlos y se nos olvidó cuando votamos por ellos, que estos son seres humanos comunes y corrientes, pero que, a diferencia de los demás, a los que solo les importa el poder, y nada más.

O ¿díganme ustedes si me equivoco? yo no sé si seré muy radical con esta opinión, tal vez, porque en mi país hemos tenido casi el mismo gobierno más de la mitad de mi vida y solo he visto la misma basura, pero yo no he visto realmente en el mundo un presidente que sea ese ídolo que la gente se cree, todos tienen sus sombras oscuras y son ¡bien oscuras! Es que hasta en los países con mejores estructuras gubernamentales siempre impera la necesidad del poder, de hecho, a este punto, yo creo que política es sinónimo de poder y nada más y lo terminamos de entender con las medidas locas de supuesta "protección a sus ciudadanos" que usaron los gobiernos que considerábamos "ejemplos" para los demás durante la época de mayor desastre en la pandemia de Covid-19.

The point is that the plot revolves around a probable apocalypse, like the one that happened with the dinosaurs that could lead us to a new extinction of all living beings, while they show you a comedy everywhere, but the worst thing is that the comedy is not forced, they are not dialogues created to make you laugh and make fun of the situation, no gentlemen! no! They are completely common and ordinary dialogues that we see every day, and that in our day to day we do not realize how absurd they look and the laughter they cause, but if we see them in third person, as if they were showing you your life in a movie, like this one, then you realize that the life of the citizens of the world, in truth are a complete comedy, but black! very, very black!

It is a total metaphor what you want to imply, because they talk about an asteroid that will hit the earth in a few months, something, perhaps, "unlikely" to happen in reality, but you can remove that factor from the film and put something more tangible and easier to evidence today as, for example, climate change or put nuclear warheads, or a bacteriological war caused by a virus or bacteria; any of those things you can put in the film as a triggering factor instead of the asteroid and everything that happens in this film and the learning that they want us to understand will be completely applicable.

I liked that, I liked that they put the most science fiction thing they could find, the most unlikely thing that could happen of all the possibilities, in the mode: "well, if this current generation likes science fiction, then we'll give them that, to see if they finally! get the message, because if we put it to them in a documentary, they don't watch it because it bores them and they think it's all lies and part of a conspiracy" that's more or less, I imagine, how the mastermind of this film Adam Mckay, who was the director and screenwriter, worked, that's why I loved it!

El punto es que la trama gira en torno a un probable apocalipsis, como el que ocurrió con los dinosaurios que puede llevarnos a una nueva extinción de todos los seres vivos, mientras te van mostrando una comedia por doquier, pero, lo peor, es que la comedia no es que está forzada, no son diálogos creados para hacerte reír y burlarte de la situación ¡no señores! ¡no! son diálogos completamente comunes y corrientes que vemos día a día, y que en nuestro día a día no nos damos cuenta de lo absurdos que se ven y de la risa que causan, pero si los vemos en tercera persona, como si te mostraran tu vida en una película, como esta, entonces te das cuenta de que la vida de los ciudadanos del mundo, en verdad son una completa comedia, pero ¡negra!, ¡muy, pero muy negra!

Es una metáfora total lo que quiere dar a entender, porque hablan de un asteroide que impactará la tierra en unos meses, algo, tal vez, "poco" probable de que ocurra en la realidad, pero puedes quitar ese factor de la película y poner algo más tangible y más fácil de evidenciar en la actualidad como, por ejemplo, el cambio climático o poner las ojivas nucleares, o una guerra bacteriológica causada por algún virus o bacteria; cualquiera de esas cosas las puedes poner en la película como factor desencadenante en vez del asteroide y va a ser completamente aplicable todo lo que sucede en este film y el aprendizaje que nos quieren dar a entender.

Me gustó eso, me agradó que ponen la cosa con mayor ciencia ficción que pudieron encontrar, lo más improbable que pudiera ocurrir de todas las posibilidades, en modo: "bueno, si a esta generación actual le gusta es la ciencia ficción, entonces les daremos eso, para ver si ¡por fin! captan el mensaje, porque si se los ponemos en un documental, no lo ven porque les aburre y creen que todo es mentira y es parte de una conspiración" así más o menos, me imagino yo, que funcionó la mente maestra de esta película Adam Mckay, quien fue el director y guionista, por eso ¡me encantó!

It is a film that if you look at it in a crude way it looks like a documentary that portrays reality completely, but where they highlight the humor to make it more attractive to the viewer and leave the intention of it second hand, to see if they end up getting the message, and I thought it was a great idea! The bad thing about all this, is that I'm sure that many people finished watching the movie and laughed out loud with it because it's a textual portrait of their daily life with emphasis on humor and didn't get the message, because that's how today's society is, completely laughable and completely incoherent, sadly =/.

Es una película que si la vez de una forma cruda parece un documental que retrata la realidad totalmente, pero donde resaltan el humor para que sea más atractiva verla por el espectador y dejan de segunda mano la intención de ella, para ver si así terminan de captar el mensaje, y me pareció ¡genial la idea! lo malo de todo esto, es que estoy segura de que mucha gente terminó de ver la película y rió a carcajadas con ella porque es un retrato textual de su vida diaria con énfasis en el humor y no capto el mensaje, porque así es la sociedad actual, completamente risible y completamente incoherente, tristemente =/.

Kate Dibiaski (Jennifer Lawrence)

You don't know how much I admired this woman, I told a friend in a review of this movie, a few weeks ago when I read it, that I felt that I was going to feel identified with this character when I saw it, and I was right! and it's like that, because friends, how difficult it is when you know terrifying things scientifically proven with almost zero percentage of possibility of not happening, that can affect all humanity or who you are telling, and when you try to explain them to these people, they basically laugh at you or think you are crazy, that's why they say that "ignorance is man's worst enemy and it is bold", I don't know whose phrase it is, but I always find that the guy or subject who invented it is very right!

But, then, after they never listened to you, they didn't even make the effort to do it and try to understand what I explained to them, when the disaster comes, they come and tell you: "you were right", as if that already mattered at that point, but to get to that point they should have seen the problem face to face, because otherwise they would continue acting in total denial, because that is how most human beings are, incredulous, when you talk to them that their life may be finite and that it depends on other people, they see it in a movie, they get into character and believe everything, but when a scientist tells them with scientifically proven bases, they don't believe her! Well, yes, I have felt like Kate.

Kate is a demonstration of the degree of indignation that one suffers when one sees things one way, in a world where almost everyone sees things in a very different way from yours, surrounded by negligence, ulterior motives, banalities, ignorance, self-centeredness, with zero interest in others, a world of selfishness and riddled with corruption; a scientist who really wanted to help others, but who ended up having her nerves shattered because nobody ever listened to her, yes, in short I have felt like Kate a few times, especially at the beginning of this pandemic, from which we are still not out of, by the way! =/

No saben cuánto admiré a esta mujer, por ahí le comenté a una amiga en una review de esta película, hace ya unas cuantas semanas cuando la leí, que sentía que me iba a sentir identificada con este personaje cuando la viera, y ¡no me equivoqué! y es que es así, porque amigos, que difícil es cuando tú sabes cosas aterradoras comprobadas científicamente con casi cero porcentaje de posibilidad de que no ocurran, que pueden afectar a toda la humanidad o a quien se lo estás diciendo, y que cuando se las intentas explicar a estas personas, básicamente se ríen de ti o piensan que estás loca, por eso dicen que "la ignorancia es el peor enemigo del hombre y es atrevida", no sé de quién es la frase, pero siempre compruebo que tiene ¡mucha razón! el sujeto o sujeta que la inventó.

Pero, entonces, después que nunca te escucharon, ni siquiera hicieron el esfuerzo de hacerlo y tratar de entender lo que les explicaba, cuando llega el desastre, vienen y te dicen: "tenías razón", como si ya eso importara a ese punto, pero para llegar a ese punto debieron ver el problema cara a cara, porque si no seguían actuando en total negación, porque así son la mayoría de los seres humanos, incrédulos, cuando les hablas de que su vida puede ser finita y que depende de otras personas, lo ven en una película, entran en el personaje y se creen todo, pero cuando una científica se los dice con bases comprobadas científicamente ¡no le creen! pues bueno, sí, yo me he sentido como Kate.

Kate es una demostración del grado de indignación que sufre uno cuando ve las cosas de una forma, en un mundo donde casi todos lo ven de una misma forma muy distinta a la tuya, rodeada de negligencia, de segundas intenciones, banalidades, ignorancia, egocentrismo, con cero interés en los demás, un mundo de egoístas y plagado de corrupción; una científica que de verdad quería ayudar a los demás, pero a la que terminó destrozándosele los nervios porque nadie nunca la escuchó, sí, en definitiva yo me he sentido como Kate algunas veces, sobre todo al comienzo de la pandemia ésta, de la que aún no salimos ¡por cierto! =/

Randall Mindy (Leonardo DiCaprio)

Professor Randall is an example of how a person who has mental problems, because you can see for sure that he suffers from anxiety which obviously gets worse with the news, he even takes medication for it, can easily fall prey to the ulterior motives of others, because they are so scared, so insecure in themselves, that they don't have time to notice the surroundings clearly as his partner Kate sees it; while he is trying to save planet earth, he has to try to save himself from himself, because anxiety attacks are basically that, an attack on the same person and that makes the picture for him confusing and he does not see the clear intentions of others.

On the other hand his partner, that is Kate, is a woman of great character, very explosive, with zero patience, so Randall has no choice but to be the pacifist and try to make everyone understand by good, but it is because he is not perceptive as Kate, he does not realize that people use him, make fun of him and manipulate him, ending up succumbing to them without seeing the reality as it was to get away from her, in fact, for many moments you will want to hit Dr. Randall to see if he will come to his senses. Randall to see if he will come to his senses and come out of the alienation of which he was a victim.

But, in the course of the film he ends up making you feel very sorry for him, he is a man who makes many mistakes, but with very good intentions, only that he let himself get involved by ruthless and very evil people who took advantage of the security provided by giving a high position to a university professor, who had never obtained the proper recognition he deserved; they used him at their whim by giving him great political positions such as being the White House Science Advisor, I mean what scientist wouldn't be attracted to that? They benefited from his innocence, that's the truth, but he is an innocent and good being who only committed the cardinal sin of trusting others!

El profesor Randall es un ejemplo de cómo una persona que tiene problemas mentales, porque se ve a leguassss que sufre de ansiedad la cual empeora evidentemente con la noticia, incluso toma medicamentos para eso, puede caer fácilmente presa de segundas intenciones de los demás, porque están tan asustados, con tanta inseguridad en sí mismos, que no tienen tiempo de darse cuenta del alrededor claramente cómo lo ve su compañera Kate; él mientras está tratando de salvar al planeta tierra, tiene que tratar de salvarse a él mismo de él mismo, porque los ataques de ansiedad son básicamente eso, un ataque hacía la misma persona y eso hace que el panorama para él sea confuso y no vea las claras intenciones de los demás.

Por otro lado su compañera, es decir Kate, es una mujer de mucho carácter, muy explosiva, con cero paciencia, por lo que no le queda a Randall más opción que la de ser él el pacifico y tratar de que todos entiendan por las buenas, pero es porque no es perceptivo como Kate, él no se da cuenta de que la gente lo utiliza, se burla de él y lo manipulan, terminando sucumbiendo ante ellos sin ver la realidad tal y como era al alejarse de ella, de hecho, por muchos momentos vas a querer golpear al Dr. Randall para ver si entrar en razón y sale de la alienación de la que fue víctima.

Pero, en el transcurrir de la película termina dándote mucha lástima, es un hombre que comete muchos errores, pero con muy buenas intenciones, solo que se dejó envolver por gente despiadada y muy malvada que se aprovecharon de la seguridad que le proporcionaba darle un alto cargo a un profesor de universidad, que nunca había obtenido el adecuado reconocimiento que merecía; lo utilizaron a su antojo al darle grandes cargos políticos como ser el Asesor Científico de la Casa Blanca, quiero decir ¿a qué científico no le atraería eso? Se beneficiaron de su inocencia, esa es la pura verdad, pero es un ser inocente y bueno que solo cometió el pecado capital de ¡confiar en los demás!

President of the United State (Meryl Streep)

I must say that I hadn't seen Meryl Streep acting for a long time and what a great performance this woman gave in this movie! I really did! I laughed out loud with her, because her performance as president was just like that, president with her millions of flaws, but in this character we can see much more accentuated the black comedy character, she is only focused on herself, on her current mandate and the upcoming elections for reelection, the character is exaggerated, I must admit, but this does not mean that politicians do not have these characteristics, on the contrary, just that they make it much less evident and much more coldly calculated, with some exceptions of some who are shown as they are, and still end up voting for them =/.

However, the basic characteristics of political leaders are in it, but maximized, they only care about having everyone fooled with their mass manipulation techniques, perfectly employed by the biggest politicians in the world, they care about making money, having power and themselves, but nothing else! I could say more about her, but it's just like a politician's performance, only made by one of the biggest names in cinema, so there's nothing more to say than that she did a great job!

Debo decir que tenía tiempo sin ver actuar a Meryl Streep y ¡qué buena actuación la de esa mujer en esta película! ¡De verdad que sí! Me reí a más no poder con ella, porque es que su actuación de presidenta fue tal cual de eso, presidenta con sus millones de defectos, pero en este personaje sí podemos ver mucho más acentuado el carácter de comedia negra, ella solo está enfocada en sí misma, en su mandato actual y las elecciones que se vienen para la reelección, el personaje está exagerado, debo admitirlo, pero esto no quiere decir que los políticos no tengan esas características, al contrario, solo que ellos lo hacen muchísimo menos evidente y muchísimo más fríamente calculado, con algunas excepciones de algunos que se muestran tal y como son, e igual terminan votando por ellos =/.

Sin embargo, las características básicas se los líderes políticos están en ella, pero maximizados, solo le importa tener a todo el mundo engañado con sus técnicas de manipulación de masas, perfectamente empleadas por los mayores políticos del mundo, les importa ganar dinero, tener poder y ellos mismos ¡más nada!, toda la actuación ¡fue genial! le dio gran parte del toque de humor a toda la película y su actuación fue ¡fenomenal! Podría decir más de ella, pero es tal cual una actuación de un político solo que, hecha por una de las más grandes figuras del cine, así que no hay nada que decir, más que lo hizo ¡estupendamente bien! al ponerle todo el humor a la película.

Jason Orlean (Jonah Hill)

If I didn't laugh enough with his mom, the president of the United States, with this man I've completed my task, this character is terrifying! haha, really! I mean he is the ideal character to hate, the son of a mother who gives her everything and is her right hand, that is to say he is the Chief of Staff of the President of the United States, but he knows absolutely nothing about politics! =/ And much less about humanity, the worst thing is that he does such a bad job as his mom's right hand man, that he can't even lie, I mean, at least his mom is somewhat intelligent, but this guy is the walking ignorance!

This guy will make you remember why you hate all that group that surrounds the presidents, that at first glance you can tell they are just bootlickers and don't even know why they are there, but while he does that you will laugh a lot because the degree of stupidity is such, that you have no choice but to laugh at their degree of human misery, yes, as strange as I described them, that's how you will feel with him, and that's because come on! We are clear that Jonah Hill knows how to make us laugh, in the end you end up feeling sorry for him too, if you analyze it well, but not like Dr. Randall because he was manipulated, no! you feel sorry for this character when we internalize that he is a son of a mother who used to give him everything, who did not even let him learn to defend himself on his own and much less to educate himself, so you know that the future that awaits him will be because of that upbringing and most likely will be miserable, just as his mother taught me to be. =/

Si no me reí lo suficiente con su mamá, la presidenta de los EEUU, con este hombre me terminé de completar ¡que de terror este personaje! jaja, ¡de verdad! o sea es el personaje ideal para odiar, el hijo de una madre que le da todo y es su mano derecha, es decir es el Jefe del Gabinete de la Presidenta de EEUU, pero ¡no sabe absolutamente nada de política! =/ Y mucho menos de humanidad, lo peor es que hace tan mal su trabajo como mano derecha de su mamá, que ni siquiera sabe mentir, quiero decir, por lo menos su mamá es algo inteligente, pero este chico es ¡la ignorancia andante!

Este chico te va hacer recordar por qué es que odias a todo ese grupo que rodea a los presidentes, que a simple vista se nota que son solo unos lame botas y no saben ni por qué están ahí, pero mientras hace eso tú te vas a reír mucho porque el grado de estupidez es tal, que no te queda de otra que reír de su grado de miseria humana, sí, así de extraño como se los describí, así se van a sentir con él, y es que ¡vamos! No solo en tecnología y en hacerse millonarios, sino en amasar más sus fortunas cada vez, en manipular a grandes masas a través de mucha programación neurolingüística utilizada con muy malas intenciones, mucho más que los políticos, que no son ningunos genios nada, este hombre sí es un verdadero genio y hasta llegas a admirarlo por su grado de coeficiente intelectual, aun cuando notas que es muy malo, y solo lo usa para eso, ¡maldad! jaja.

Todo el tiempo lo ves repitiendo frases sobre cómo la tecnología, que casualmente, desarrollan su empresa multimillonaria Bash de quien es fundador y CEO, terminará originando cosas como: "la paz mundial", "acabará con las necesidades de la humanidad", "finalizarán las guerras", "terminará la pobreza", etc, etc, todo eso mientras lo ves todo con un aspecto físico "sencillo" "humilde" y hablándote con un estilo de moderación que sientes que tiene las mejores intenciones del mundo, te llena de esperanzas, y tú, tontamente como eres con la mayoría de los que son como él, te crees todo =/.

Pero, lo que realmente predomina en esa mente, como con gran parte de esos multimillonarios dueños de empresas gigantes tecnológicas, es la necesidad del crecimiento exponencial de su fortuna y, bueno, si queda algo después de llenar sus bancos, ahí se le da un poquito de ayuda a los políticos, esos mismos políticos que van a seguir apoyando sus proyectos, dándoles todos sus permisos y permitiendo que ellos se vuelvan más y más millonarios gracias al mismo país, pero obteniendo los políticos su propio beneficio extra, obviamente.

Este personaje tuvo una "maravillosa" idea, no quiso que tomaran el camino fácil con el asteroide que era desviarlo de su camino a la tierra, quiero decir ¿por qué tomar el camino fácil para evitar la extinción de la humanidad? Vamos al meollo del asunto y a lo que me pareció personalmente la cinta, sin duda es una película que movió dos polos muy opuestos, por un lado, tenemos el publico que le fascino la película y las declaran como una de las mejores del año, y por otro lado tenemos al publico que no le gusto, o que de plano la odio, en mi opinión me decanto mas por el lado de aquellos que les encanto la película, si bien en mi opinión no es un diez, pero sin duda es una película que no merece tanta controversia y que en mi opinión no debe de ser tan tomada enserio. Durante toda la película no paraba de pensar en una cosa; ¿Oigan de verdad nos estamos convirtiendo tan idiotas como sociedad?, y sin duda creo que sí, la cinta quería trasmitir ese mensaje y como al final, nos convertimos en parte de un sistema monótono, en donde se premia más el chisme, la intriga y el entretenimiento barato, cosas que generan morbo y quitándole importancia a lo que realmente es un problema y el meteorito es la analogía perfecta para esto.

Desde un comienzo con el mensaje de preocupación y temor que mostro en televisión Kate, vimos de inmediato la reacción a la sociedad, la cual es muy similar a los que tendríamos los humanos hoy en día en un primer momento a una noticia “catastrófica”, la cual sería la utilización de los Memes, una cultura que nos quedo como sociedad y que solo nos sirve para crear broma a algo que para muchos no se tiene importancia, caso similar paso en un primer momento con el COVID cuando todos creamos bromas al respecto, hasta que la situación se salió de control y se propago por todo el mundo, similar a como sucedió en la película.

Hablando de las actuaciones me parecen perfecta cada una de ellas, mas teniendo en cuenta de la cantidad de estrellas que habían en esta cinta, pero si queremos destacar a alguien en mi opinión me quedo con dos papeles muy relevantes para la historia, el primero de ellos el papel del hijo de la presidenta de los Estados Unidos Jason Orlean “Jonah Hill”, el típico Macarra o Bullying, el cual se engrandece solo por ser el hijo de la presidenta, un papel acido y muy de humor negro, excelente en todos los sentidos y por ultimo tenemos a la reina de Hollywood Meryl Streep, sin duda mi papel favorito en toda la cinta, Meryl es la parodia perfecta de un presidente populista pero con claras tendencias capitalistas, vamos un Donal Trump llevado a otro nivel de comedia, y en donde destaco sin cada una de sus actuaciones en especial en una donde dice una de las frases mas cierta y triste que refleja a la sociedad, La cual inicia este post “ A la gente no le gusta que le digas que van a morir al 100%”, una frase que marca perfectamente a la película.

Si me pidieran meter en una casilla de géneros la película “No mires arriba” no sabría donde colocarla porque tiene mucho de comedia con un humor negro que te lleva a un drama social, parece ciencia ficción pero la ficción se acerca tanto a lo real que se convierte en un documental sobre la humanidad en tiempo presente, es una sátira cargada de acción, suspenso, apocalíptica con pinceladas de romance, en fin, su creador y director, Adam Mckay, de una manera magistral nos presenta un caos con todos los elementos emocionales que se pueden despertar en el espectador.

La película nos muestra un personaje, Peter Isherwell (Mark Rylance), a quien no es difícil ponerle un nombre de la vida real, por supuesto un poco exagerado en su deshumanización… digo yo.

Por su parte, Meryl Streep, Mark Rylance y Jonah Hill, quien interpreta a Jason, el hijo de la presidenta y jefe de gabinete obsesionado por los likes, nos otorgan un brillante retrato de la política como un constante conflicto de intereses, el cual de vez en cuando se percibe en las interacciones de los personajes de Streep y Rylance con el de DiCaprio.

Un aspecto que el film destaca de forma sutil es el poder de las redes sociales sobre la opinión pública. Por ejemplo, en la escena de la primera entrevista que Mindy y Dibiansky en The Daily Rip, esta última trató de remarcar la importancia del asunto, dejándose llevar por las emociones; al final, Dibiansky se convirtió en un meme viviente y fue echada de la casa familiar, mientras que Mindy se convirtió en un sex appeal y en una marioneta de los Orlean.

Con un toque de humor negro, Don't Look Up nos recuerda de forma concisa y desoladora que muchas veces hay que mirar arriba, en medio y abajo para estar conscientes de lo que nos rodea. Al final, cada quien es responsable de sus propias acciones, incluyendo las relacionadas con la política, y que es preciso aprender a asumir las consecuencias de dichos actos... Incluyendo el elegir a gente incompetente como Orlean.

Having clarified the above, yes, Don't Look Up is a high level satire where we are shown EVERYTHING that is wrong with the world to the point where I was laughing almost the entire movie because of how REAL it is. You know that saying "it's so real it hurts"? - Well, that's just the way it is. I am sure that if an event of that magnitude were to happen in our reality the society in general would react just like the movie and it is that detail that impressed me a lot.

In history there are several phenomena: we understand that politics is useless because it will always be petty and tied to their own interests accompanied by people who are clearly not capable of holding any office, there are the empty media that rather than informing what they seek is to entertain and in some cases manipulate, people who are Anti science and Anti everything and a humanity in general addicted to the networks which is very easy to influence.

In other words, I see this film as a well-delivered blow to the reality of which we are a part, and in my opinion, they did it quite well. And part of the success is due to the brutal cast it has, we are talking about first class actors and an Oscar-winning director, Adam McKay, who knew how to put together such a plot and exploit the qualities of each one of them.

DiCaprio's performance is magnificent, as he has become accustomed to. His character has certain characteristics that make him have to put an extra in the performance and the truth is that he does it with flying colors; moments of crisis, happiness, sadness and anger are some of the emotions that we can see him interpret in a matter of minutes.

What to say about Jennifer Lawrence, the misunderstood young woman who struggles for some acceptance but ends up practically worse than she started, an average performance not bad at all but I didn't see her stand out that much except in a couple of scenes. President Orlean played by the great Meryl Streep is a character you hate because of how well done she is, a lot of character and experience together make what she does never wrong.

But for me one of the best characters was Jason (Jonah Hill), a true comedy MVP. What a nefarious character and so real at the same time, I'm sure we ALL know someone like that in any walk of life. And he is so good that the first scene in the Oval room was almost improvised, said by the director himself, which shows the great ability of this actor, one of my favorites in the genre.

In conclusion, an incredible movie that I didn't expect to like so much but seeing everything behind it and its way of taking criticism to a comedy level definitely got me. Great actors, we even saw some sci-fi effects which were not bad at all and a high degree of comedy to the point of being uncomfortable which for me is wonderful (I say that because of my sense of humor) made this film one of the top of the year.

I rate it with an 8/10. As you can see I am in the group of those who liked it, personally I enjoyed the more than two and a half hours that the film lasts and you can find it on the Netflix platform. As usual I leave you the trailer.
