The Legend of Korra is good, but not everyone agrees. Its first two seasons are the best for me, but that doesn't mean the others were bad. I hope you can see it, it's much more worthwhile than watching the live action versions of Aang's story.

It's very different to appreciate this movie if you watch the animated series first; your appreciation would surely have been different, because the anime is a masterpiece.
Even "professional" critics have lost their impact on audiences. Have they forgotten that Mila Jovovich is one of the most badass actresses? That alone is reason enough to watch a movie, and combined with that premise of a vengeful mother, it's undoubtedly a success.
